Since our engagement session last fall, I had been so excited to capture Hannah and Jake’s wedding at Tacaro Estate in Tracey’s Landing, Maryland. Originally built in 1940 as a private estate, the mansion blends Georgian Colonial architecture with stunning views of the Chesapeake Bay and Herring Bay.
The wedding day welcomed us with beautiful sunshine and warm summer weather, and the sun stayed with us from the first moments of getting ready all the way through the evening celebration.
One of my favorite details from the day was that Hannah wore her mother's wedding dress - an heirloom that made the day feel even more meaningful. The bridal party had an elegant and refined look, with the bridesmaids wearing a soft, romantic shade of pink and the groomsmen dressed in classic black tuxedos.
This bridal party was one of the kindest I've ever had the privilege of working with. Throughout the day they were constantly checking in, asking if I needed anything, and doing everything they could to make the day run smoothly. It's always a reflection of the couple when the people around them are that thoughtful, and it was so clear how loved they are.
Cocktail hour featured fresh oysters as guests wandered the grounds of the estate, and as the sun began to set, the reception was filled with the dreamiest golden light. There were heartfelt toasts, laughter, and many happy tears.
After a lively celebration, Hannah and Jake had a flower petal exit, but they weren’t going far. Hidden beneath the mansion was a speakeasy where the after-party came to life. Before heading downstairs, Hannah changed into a sparkling second dress that was absolutely made for the occasion. It completely transformed the feel of the evening and was such a fun way to end an already unforgettable celebration.
It was a wedding that I'll be thinking about for a long time.
